The Ultimate Overnight Camping Experience
Enjoy an epic overnight camping experience in Chobe with a three day, two night adventure! Start your experience with a morning boat cruise on the Chobe River in Chobe National Park, one of the highlights of the trip as you have the opportunity to get up close and personal with fantastic birdlife, hippos, crocodiles and scores of elephant and Cape buffalo that make their way down to the river to quench their thirst. Enjoy a delicious lunch at Coffee Buzz restaurant, and then return to the park on one of our customised 4x4 game viewers for an afternoon game drive, being the best time to see Chobe National Park’s large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink. Head to Camp shortly after sunset for dinner around the camp fire, and listen to the sounds of the bush around you as you slumber in your tent under the African sky. Wake up at dawn with a friendly Botswana “dumela” (good day), and after breakfast head off on an early morning game drive. This time of day is best for finding the big cats or wild dogs as they are still active at this time and chances of seeing them are good. Return to Camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to read, rest or take a refreshing shower. When the day starts to cool off another afternoon game drive follows tea, and good sightings are revisited or areas as yet unexplored are visited. Return to Camp after sunset for a reflective fireside chat. Dinner follows, as always accompanied by the unforgettable sounds of the African night. On your last day, enjoy a dawn breakfast followed by an early morning game drive - you may be lucky and even spot a leopard! Return to Camp for a delicious “bush brunch” and an opportunity to take a refreshing shower and to pack. Leave Camp on a final boat cruise on the Chobe River, before heading back into Kasane/Kazungula. Trip Itinerary
Enjoy three days and two nights of epic sights and sounds in the heart of Chobe National Park.
DAY ONE
8:30 AM - Collection at Border
With collection available from either the Zambian/ Zimbabwe Border Post or Livingstone / Victoria Falls Towns, guests are transported to Kalahari Holiday Tours to register and to enjoy a light breakfast at Coffee Buzz, including muffins/scones, fruit, tea & coffee before the first activity.
9:30 AM - Boat Cruise on Chobe River
Board the boat for a 3-hour river cruise into Chobe National Park.
12:30 PM - Lunch at Coffee Buzz
Stop off at Coffee Buzz for a delicious lunch, followed by last-minute shopping in Kasane.
1:30 PM - Game Drive in Chobe National Park
Head back into Chobe National Park in a specially adapted 4×4 vehicle for a 3-hour game drive along the riverfront.
6:30 PM - Dinner & Overnight in Camp
Head to camp for dinner around the camp fire and settle in for a night under the stars.
DAY TWO
6:00 AM - Continental Breakfast in Camp
Wake up at dawn with tea, coffee and a light continental style breakfast.
6:30 AM - Game Drive in Chobe National Park
Head off on an early morning game drive.
11:00 AM - Brunch in Camp
Return to Camp late morning for a delicious “bush brunch”, with time to then rest and freshen up.
3:00-3:30 PM - Game Drive in Chobe National Park
When the day cools off, leave Camp for another game drive through an as yet unexplored area of the park.
6:30 PM - Dinner in Camp
Head back to camp for dinner around the camp fire and settle in for a night under the stars.
DAY THREE
6:00 AM - Continental Breakfast in Camp
Wake up at dawn with tea, coffee and a light continental style breakfast.
6:30 AM - Game Drive in Chobe National Park
Head off on an early morning game drive.
11:00 AM - Brunch in Camp
Return to Camp late morning for a delicious “bush brunch”, with time to then pack up.
1:30 PM - Boat Cruise on Chobe River
Leave Camp on a final boat cruise on the Chobe River.
4:30 PM - Drop off in Kasane/Kazungula
Leave the park and be dropped off in Kasane/Kazungula.
“We chose the 3 day 2 night camping option. We had a lovely group of people to go camping with and the amazing Shabba guiding and driving us for the 3 days. Tents were clean, a thin but comfortable mattress and lovely camp site. It is basic but after all the excitement of the game drives during the day and getting back to a fire blazing, lots of red wine and good food plus lovely company it was awesome. We saw the most incredible sights. Herds of hundreds of elephants playing in the mud and in the river. 25 lions on day one, and day two a pride of lion feeding on an elephant carcass, pack of wild dogs it just went on and on - it was truly incredible.
I can't thank all the staff at Kalahari enough for their kindness and help and giving us the most amazing experience. I would really recommend Kalahari, ask for Shabba!”
